Mandelic acid peeling
Mandelic acid (peeling) belongs to the family of alpha hydroxy acids and is indicated for the treatment of facial photodamage, rosacea and skin hyperpigmentation. It has strong whitening and anti-aging properties, helps to bleach spots, enhances the skin complex of the face reducing fine lines and wrinkles and stimulates cell renewal by its keratolytic action. Its anti-seborrhoeic and antibacterial activity regulate the secretion of sebum, which is attributed to its high molecular weight as mandelic acid does not penetrate very deep into the skin, which results in avoiding the irritation we may experience with other chemical peelings, whose action penetrates the deeper layers of the skin. Its recovery differs from heavier medical peelings as the regeneration of facial skin is achieved by achieving the same result in a different mode of action and with mild exfoliation. For this reason, it is suitable also for patients that have more sensitive skin and darker phototype, giving them a healthy and youthful appearance.
Typical applications are 2-4 every 3 weeks.
