Facial-body Mesotherapy

What is mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy can be used for different types of issues--in plastic surgery, it is used to improve skin texture, wrinkles, local fat, scars, cellulite, and hair loss. It is called mesotherapy because it calls for the insertion of substances in an injectable manner into the mesoderm, ie the fat and connective tissue beneath the skin.
How is mesotherapy performed?
The substances enter the mesoderm in an injectable manner. The doctor uses a small syringe with a very fine needle and multiple injections in the affected area are made but because the needle is too thin, the intensity of pain is hardly felt. It is often experienced as a light bite sensation. On some points, the pain may not be felt at all. The procedure can be done manually or with specialized equipment. With it each pinch, the doctor reposits a very small amount of the substance.
What is the use of mesotherapy?
The main applications of mesotherapy are to improve the texture of the facial skin and the treatment of cellulite - lipolysis. Mesotherapy can be applied in many other cases, for example in stretch marks (striae), hair loss, wrinkle correction etc. Also for the improvement of facial texture mainly in skin types that have been dehydrated and have fine wrinkles. In cellulite, it also helps in those cases where there is no great sagging and depending on the substances it contains, it can stimulate fat-burning in specific regions.

Facial Mesotherapy
The substances used in mesotherapy can vary. The ingredients included are different kinds of vitamins, minerals and many other various categories. The main substance behind the efficiency of mesotherapy is hyaluronic acid. This is used because of its capability to retain water molecules. By placing the mesotherapy solution all over the face, the molecules of hyaluronic acid retain water and moisturize the skin.Hyaluronic acid can be used in creams for improving facial texture. However, since its molecule is large, it can not penetrate into the skin from the dermal surface. If however, it penetrates the skin in an injectable manner, it stays there for a long time and retains moisture. It does not add volume to the face and doesn't alter its original shape. It also stimulates the skin to produce its own collagen. It has been shown that even needle stings alone stimulate the skin. To complete the effect mesotherapy, 6-8 sessions are required, usually spaced 20 to 30 days from each other. It is suggested that the results are maintained by doing applications less frequently.

Body Mesotherapy
Body mesotherapy is performed for the correction of cellulite and reduction of local fat. Its effect on cellulite is usually temporary if no maintenance treatments are followed. By receiving maintenance treatments, one can maintain the effect for a longer period. Regarding fat burning, its effect can also be permanent. For small amounts of fat, mesotherapy is effective. The solutions relating to cellulite usually contain many active compounds among which the most important are caffeine and some metabolism activators. Sessions take place typically every 10 days for cellulite and every 20 days for fat burning. It takes 6-8 sessions to see a result, which depends on the extent of the problem where the number of treatments suggested is more than ten. The fat which is dissolved usually gets eliminated from the body through urination. Due to the fact that many toxins are eliminated from the body, it is recommended to those interested that they drink enough water and follow a healthy diet.

Mesotherapy in the body can not replace liposuction but can work as a complementary method. Afterall, liposuction does not particularly help to correct cellulite but mesotherapy does. As for the face, mesotherapy can improve the texture of the face, but not correct sagging much. It does not replace lifting, but can act as a preventive measure. Over the last years, autologous mesotherapy is continually growing, a method which is based on the use of growth factors derived from the own person's blood serum.
